Denim Zombie

Zombie Jacket – George+Ginger

I’m so stoked to finally share this one with you.
This is probably the coolest thing I’ve ever made! <3

I’m so in love with it!

I mentioned a while ago that I had completely lost my sewjo.
I had fallen into a sort of automatism when it came to sewing and a lot of the joy of it was lost. When G+G’s Grunge Collection came around it felt like a breath of fresh air and it got my sewing juices flowing again.

As soon as I finished the faux leather Zombie, I knew I needed one in denim as well.

Sewing the jacket itself was way easier and faster than the leather one. What took me a while was deciding the look I wanted, ordering all the hardware and installing everything.

It was my first time working with studs. It’s pretty easy to affix them, just time consuming and after about 800 of them my fingers weren’t really happy with me. haha

All worth it though!

The back was looking a bit empty, so I ordered some patches. Another first for me! This was actually what took the longest… choosing the patches I wanted to use. I’m so bad at making decisions and would change my mind daily! 😛

In the end, I just went for the biggest option! lol
These are 5 patched combined, four branches forming frame plus the tiger.
I love it! And have now a patch collecting problem… I’ve ordered more and can’t stop searching the web for them (I might be planning the next jacket already… :D).

I didn’t add pockets because I lost my zippers and didn’t want to stop sewing and wait till I got new ones. I do regret that decision though.

That’s totally a good reason to make a new one, right? Thought so… 😛

Ok… the kids are at home and being loud, I had to take a break from writing and how lost my train of thought, so I’ll sign off here with a few more shots, just because I freaking love it! 😛

If you’re in this part of the world and would like to know where I sourced the hardware and patches, let me know and I’ll look it up properly. I ordered from different places and don’t have the info straight in my head atm. 😉
