Ellie and Mac challenged the members of their Facebook group to find a Pinspiration and try to recreate it with EAM patterns. How fun is that?
Of course I had to jump in and give it a go!
I knew right off the bat what sort of look I was going for.
I’d been flirting with the idea of a Duster Cardigan for a while and loving all the different styling options to be found on Pinterest. So many options, so tough to narrow down to one!
After a lot of back and forth, I decided that a t-shirt, jeans, and a cardi were more my daily life vibe and went searching for inspiration.
This was the chosen one:
I love how simple it is to achieve the look, but also how casual and elegant it is at the same time.
The pattern choice for this one was easy: the Cardigan Love.
It already comes with duster length option, so YAY for keeping it easy! HA!
Aside from duster, the pattern also comes in tunic length and features a split back that is super trendy and gives the cardigan more movement, which I love. Other features are an optional hood and inseam pockets.
Ok, so I guess it’s time I showed you what my version of the look turned out to be 😉 :
I love this so much!
It’s an easy and simple pattern, but it makes an impression, doesn’t it?
Let’s do a side by side
Pretty good, if I may say so myself! 😛
Trying to recreate a pose is the hardest part of it all! LOL
I made two small mods to the pattern:
– I lengthened the sleeve and eliminated the cuff;
– Added patch pockets to match the inspiration.
I may need to make one of these dusters in all different colors now. They’re so comfy to wear and finish off the outfit beautifully. It’s like a fashionable, social acceptable bathrobe to wear outside! Fantastic!
