Endless Summer Shorts and Traveler Tee – Winter Wear Designs

Yay!
I finally manage to join the WWD Blog Tours again. I’d been missing it!
Scheduling and organizing life still feels a bit ‘off’ but I’m doing my best to get back on track as much as possible, and that includes sewing and blogging.
So here’s to July!
May this month be the bringer of all good things.
Since 2018 Summer isn’t really Summer without me making at least a couple of Endless Summer Shorts.
I just love this pattern so much!

Comfy, cute, and designed to keep you cool all summer long. These woven shorts work with a wide range of woven fabrics including quilting cotton, rayon blends, lace, and seersucker. Add pockets, a front drawstring, and trims to make these a one of a kind creation that will fill your closet with endless options.
I’ve writen about them in THIS POST, check it out for more details about why I love it so much!

To pair with the Endless Summer I chose a pattern that I was dying to make since it released, the Traveler Tee.
This is a knit/woven COMBO top with raglan sleeves and a scoop neck. The front center panel is made of apparel woven material, the sleeves and back are knit. This pattern has a Relaxed Fit with flattering shaping that gives fashionable comfort for any figure.

The idea of a tee that uses both knit and woven just intrigued me in the best possible way.
The fabrics I used were Viscose and Poly Knit for the tee and Terlenka (a poly woven).

The top is super lightweight and airy, perfect for the warmer days. The only disadvantage is that viscose wrinkles so freaking easily and the only ironing I enjoy doing is when sewing. lol
Even though Terlenka is polyester, the fit and length of shorts make it so that heat isn’t a problem. I love that the fabric is wrinkle free, lightweight and never fades. I wear these all summer long, so they get a beating in the washing machine. Which reminds me… the fabric dries super fast as well, score!

I chose to make the Shirttail hem with the Cap sleeves. I’m truy in love with this top and see so many possibilities for it!

The two pieces paired together gives off a sporty vibe, doesn’t it? But if I pair the tee with some slacks, it becomes an office shirt. I totally meant to photograph both pieces separately as well, but life decided to get in the way… I’ll try to do so asap.

Y’all know how much I love a good romper, so of course I had to tuck in the shirt for a faux romper look. So cute!
If you liked the sound of these patterns and/or are looking to add to your summer wardrobe, here’s some good news… Winter Wear Designs is having a sale through July 4th! 15 patterns available for only $4 each, including Endless Summer and Traveler. Woot!
