Toby K. Patterns Blog Tour

If you have guys to sew for, Toby K. is a must stop and shop place for you!
I don’t often sew for my husband because mister is picky and sewing for the kids and myself keep me plenty occupied :P, but as my son grows (at what sometimes feels like the speed of light) I find that kids patterns don’t really fit him anymore.

That’s one of the great things about Toby K.
It has 2 categories of patterns, Kids and Men/Teen, which is fantastic! No size limbo!

For this blog tour I chose to put the Berlin Tee on the spotlight.
It’s such a cool and versatile pattern. You know I love a bunch-in-one deals! The amount of options on this one is ah-mazing, especially being a boys pattern.

(How do you get your tween to pose for you? Yeah, let him use his phone as a prop! lol)

Options available in the pattern:

  • tank or shirt
  • regular or asymmetrical hem;
  • short or long sleeves;
  • crew or v-neck;
  • hood with or without angled zipper;
  • thumb-hole cuffs.

Phew, I hope I haven’t missed any!

For Lucas, I chose: Shirt, long sleeve with thumb-hole cuff and hood.
I used size 30 of the Men/Tee option and removed 1″ from the length. Further no mods or hacks.
He absolutely LOVES this shirt. He says it makes him feel cool and already put on an order for 10 more! 😀

The cuffs are a really cool and practical feature! Here in the Netherlands, we cycle everywhere and it’s a very nice thing to have a built-in “glove” to protect your hands from the cold.

This was an easy and fast sew.
I haven’t done the zipper option, which would increase the project time a bit but in general, I’d say it’s a beginner friendly pattern for sure. Especially because you can pick and choose your options.
