Lively Dress – Liviality

I already wrote about this pattern on the Blog section, but really wanted to give each sew their own little place and spotlight, so I’m keeping this one short and sweet! 😉

This is the dress version of the Lively Top and Dress by George+Ginger, with bell sleeves and without shoulder and back rushing.

The fabric I used it is a rayon knit purchased at Stof-inc.com. I just love this tie-dye print!
To line the bodice I used cotton lycra. The lining really needs something more stable than rayon knit.

Sizing and adjustments:
I made size 14 bust and graded in to size 12 at the waist, following the size chart. It was perfect! The only adjustment I needed to make was to add 1.5″ to the bodice and 1.5″ to the skirt in length because I’m 5’10”.

This grading and adding of length is something I have to do to every single pattern I use, so I can safely say that the sizing on this is spot on.

With some tights and long boots, this is perfect for fall, and with some cute sandals, it can be rocked during the warmer days as well… Lively all year round!
