Sloane Slouchy Cardi

Sloane Slouchy Cardi – Petite Stitchery & Co

One of the best things about fall is the cozy comfy wear.
I can do without the rain and darker days, but the cozy wear…..hmmmmm love it!

On that note, I finally got around to sewing the Sloane cardi from Petite Stitchery! I’ve been eyeing it since the release and I just never got around to making it… Why oh why did I wait so long?

The Sloane Slouchy Cardi is the ultimate comfy sweater. The batwing style and banded hems make this sweater a breeze to sew and the slouchy fit is perfect for replicating those slouchy sweater Pinterest looks! The Sloane Cardi is sure to be a staple in your wardrobe year round!

This description from the PSCO website couldn’t be more accurate.
Not only is this slouchy style cardi is super comfortable and flattering, it’s also amazingly easy and fast to make.

This leopard print one was an especially fun one to make!
I got to twin with one of my favorite sewing peeps and I just loved it, but more about at the end of the post 😉

This fabric is a poly knit, very lightweight and breezy. It has a bit of weight like bamboo knits and it was perfect for Sloane.

One thing I must say about the pattern though… Because of the way it is constructed, it’s not really possible to grade it.
On the PSCO size chart, I’m a size L for bust and XXL for hips and wasn’t sure how to tackle the cardi without grading it.
As it’s supposed to be slouchy and oversized I decided to split the difference and make an XL.

It turned out great!

A “loud’ oversized cardi makes dressing so easy… just a pair of jeans and a basic top and you’re ready to go!

With that in mind, I made another bold print one. 😉

I loved the fabric I used for my Asta Dress so much that I just had to get more and turn it into a cardi, just so I can be wrapped in fluffy softness more often. ;P

This fabric has more body and structure than the cheetah one, so you can see that the final product is also a bit different. This one doesn’t have the softeness in the drape, but I love it just as much.

No, going back to my Sloane twinning…

The Petite Stitchery family and FB group have some of the most fun people in the sewing community. It is seriously impossible to visit them and leave without a laugh or smile.

I’m fortunate to be a part of their test and BA groups and those people are FUN!

That’s were I met the amazing Latvian Giant, Agnese.
She’s super funny, a little dark, gives little to no f’s and is all-around super talented (sewist, author, knitter, graphic designer…. seriously woman, how do you do it?

So when we found out we shop for fabric at the same place, (hello Driessen!) we just had to have some fun with it!

If you’re reading this, giant… One day we have to get together and do this for real! <3
And Jess, if you read this… Still waiting for you to make yours so we can become triplets! 😛

If you’re like me, and super “late” to jump into the Sloane Cardi train, the pattern is part of the October Capsule at the PSCO webiste and on sale for $4. Yeah, I’m super duper late posting this and that leaves you with only 2 days to take advantage of it… hurry! lol
