When browsing Pinterest I fell in love with cropped jackets. They might not be the most practical pieces in one’s closet, but they sure are cute!
So after making my first Cold Snap Coat I just knew I had to try and make a cropped version of it.
Guys, I’m so in love with this one!
It was a very simple adjustment. All I did was:
- Cut the pattern piece to the height I wanted (keeping SA in mind), in this case my waist;
- Sew the front/pleat seams all the way down like a princess seam.
That’s it. I didn’t need to grade or adjust the ease at all.
For this one, I went with the 3/4 sleeves and the smaller collar. I love how proportional it all looks.
The fabric I used is called Soft Coat, it has the look and feel of wool but it’s a poly/viscose blend. Perfect for people allergic to wool like me. The lining is satin. Both fabrics come from my favorite shop Stof-inc.com.
It pairs so perfectly well with the new December Dress!
This is what I’m wearing for Christmas brunch with the in-laws. <3
This has such a Jackie O feel to me. LOVE LOVE LOVE!
