Cold Snap Coat – Liviality

To be totally honest, when I first saw the Cold Snap Coat I wasn’t sure how much it’d suit me.
It’s a style I really love but usually shy away from due to how my body is shaped. But you know what they say, you’ll never know till you try it!

So I tried it and… I LOVED it!
I’m so proud of this project. Every single part of it is perfect.

My chosen options were the large collar and 3/4 sleeves and hidden buttons.

The coat is fully lined and features welt pockets.
If the words welt and pocket together scare you, there’s no need to! The instructions are great and take you step by step through the process.

It’s worth the work. How pretty is this? <3

My favorite feature of the coat is the dramatic collar. Worn closed or open, up or down, it’s all gorgeous and I absolutely love it!

As for fabric, I used denim as main and faux fur as lining. It’s warm and cozy to wear… so yummy!

It was my first time working with faux fur and omg… what a mess it makes! I had to keep the vacuum cleaner near me and use it after each cut. lol

I covered all the fur edges with bias tape to prevent it from peeking through to the outside of the coat because I wanted a more polished all denim look. That’s the only change I made to the construction of the coat.
