Tether Top

How cute is this new G+G’s release?
The Tether top has all the elements for a sweet and romantic look: gathered short sleeves, a tie ruched front, and a circle ruffle hem.

I’ve really been enjoying working with wovens lately.
I guess my preference between wovens and knits changes quite frequently… do you have that too? Periods of only wanting to work with knits, because it’s fast and really forgiving, and at other times just loving to work with wovens and all the more precise techniques and crisp results? Or do you have an all-time clear preference?

Well…. the good news is that it doesn’t matter in this case! 😀 The Tether Top is written for woven fabrics but can be made with knits as well (it’s advised to go down 1-2 sizes if doing so).

The top has a great ease to it and it’s super comfortable to wear.
I used a very very light cotton and the top is so light and airy… the perfect summer top!

I’d say this pattern is adventurous beginner friendly.
The reason for the adventurous is the circular ruffled rolled hem, if you’re familiar with rolled hems and gathering, you won’t have any problems making this beautiful top!

Things have been a bit crazy right now and my sewing time has substantially decreased the past few weeks, but I do have to find the time to make more of these tops before the summer ends. It’s too adorable to have just the one! 😉

Not to mention the fact that Miss 11, unsurprisingly, wants one too! She’s already been through my stash and let me know exactly what fabric to use for it. 😀
