Vacation wardrobe

This year has been challenging and it took a toll on my creative side. I miss it so much but it’s been hard to get back on track.

Today I’m fighting the procrastination bug to finally share with you 2 gems I added to my wardrobe this summer. 😄

As our vacation approached my sewjo was nowhere to be found so I had decided to just work with I already had (which might not be as much as you may think due to size and body changes 😬).

At most I’d use my cricut to add some fun designs to RTW tshirts.

Which I did, and they turned out pretty fun:

But luckily the sewist in me kicked into high gear at the very last minute and I managed to make two cute dresses to take with me. ♥️

01 – Meet You There (Pattern Emporium)

I can’t believe it took me this long to make this dress. It’s the perfect mix of cute and comfy.

I used double gauze for this one and it was perfection for the hot days.

The options chosen for this one were

• High neckline
• 1/2 sleeves
• Midi length

Oh, and it has pockets!! 😊

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve already worn this dress. It really became my go-to for the hottest days.

Now, this second dress was made with the vacation in mind. We went to Disneyland and I wanted to embrace the princess vibes for a day 😄

02 – Tempo Sundress (Love Notions)

This was my first time making the Tempo Dress as is (with a little mod). I’d only use the skirt part before to mash with the Lenox for a fun twinning with Jess.

Im so in love with how it turned out!

The pattern paired with this linnen like fabric (it was a tablecloth haha) was the perfect match!

The only mod I did to the pattern was to add a waistband. I have a long torso and forgot to add length to the bodice before cutting.

And since I was at it, I added a tie because it needed a bow somewhere 😄

And here’s another shot because I was feeling myself in the dress and just wanted to skip through the park in it feeling like a kid again 🥰🤪

And as a bonus, here me in my favorite maxi skirt, which is a hack from Stellar (G+G). This is another one of my trusty no-brainer pieces. The sun is out and I want to look pretty and feel comfy, I’m likely grabbing it.

Oof, it took me so long to get through writing this post that I’m already ready for another vacation! 😂

Maybe next time I get to plan better and have more to show and tell. But probabilities are I’ll just get overwhelmed with all the preparations and end up speed sewing something last minute again. 🤪😅
