Margot Peplum Top – Love Notions
TGIF! For more reasons than one!
It’s been a busy and hectic week and I’m glad it’s over. But it’s Friday, the sun is shining, weather is warm and all is good.
Another reason to be happy today is Love Notions’ Feature Friday!
Today’s featured patterns are Margot and Maggie. Gorgeous peplum tops for Ladies and Girls, respectively.
The pattern is meant for knit fabrics and features:
- Two bodice options: Solid and Princess seams;
- 4 Sleeve options: short, elbow, 3/4 and long;
- 3 Skirt options: swing, pleated and gathered.
I had plans on making a princess seam bodice with the pleated skirt, because they’re options that you don’t always see with these kind of tops. But when I was going through my stash I laid eyes on this yellow lace I got with a mystery box and it told me it wanted to be a Margot!
(Yeah, I have conversations with my fabric… that’s totally normal, right? Right?) 😛
So, slight change of plans:
Solid bodice and swing skirt it was!
I lined the bodice and made the skirt and sleeves with lace only. By lining the bodice I eliminated the neckband and really like the clean look it gives the neckline.
I’m really pleased with how this turned out!
It’s perfect to wear with my high waist bottoms or with pencil skirts. The lace gives it an airy feel that is perfect for the warmer days.
And yellow makes me happy!
