TREFOIL HOODIE DRESS – George+Ginger

If you love quirky and cute or have anyone in your life who does, you’ll definitely want to check out G+G’s newest pattern.

The Trefoil Hoodie Dress is exactly that!

This pattern comes full of options:

  • Three lengths (bodice, cropped and regular);
  • Three sleeve styles (basic, cropped, and pleated);
  • Three skirt options (basic, ruched and ruffle);
  • Four different sets of ears and dino spikes;
  • kangaroo pocket.

Oh, the possibilities!

And not only is this pattern so fantastic on its own, it also comes with a FREE gift to boot!
A cute cross-body bag perfect for beginners!

If you’re a beginner-level bag sewist, like me, this one is a great start! No pockets, no zippers, and no hardware. Just a super simple and ADORABLE bag to match your hoodie or dress!

I had so much fun planning and sewing this one!
I’ve sewn 3 pieces (plus a bag) so far but will be making more real soon because, OF COURSE, the teen already appropriated most of it.

Truth be told, I saw that coming a mile away anyways… can’t even be mad. haha

REGULAR HOODIE, BASIC SLEEVE, POCKET, AND DINO SPIKES

How fun is this?
I used a thick sweatshirt fleece and this is the coziest and warmest hoodie ever. I love the length and fit of it and that hood is just *chef’s kiss*.

The teen could not have stolen this one fast enough. Basically ripped it off of me once I was done taking photos. lol

We are not the same size but as she loves her hoodies extra oversized, it was perfect for her.

I may be biased, but… A.D.O.R.A.B.L.E!

CROPPED HOODIE, CROPPED SLEEVE, AND SHORT ROUND EARS

I used a heavy-weight butter soft sweater knit and sweatshirt fleece for this one.
It’s such a great combo. I get the yummy softness on the bodice and a nice structure on the hood for the ears to stand up nicely.

The teen let me keep this one because “cropped isn’t my vibe, but you can make me a long one for sure!”. Awwwww isn’t she so generous? LOL

DRESS, RUFFLE SKIRT, PLEATED SLEEVE, AND LONG POINT EARS

This dress has the most adorable silhouette! I used a denim look ponte for it and you can see how the hood is a bit “floppier”. It worked out great with the longer ears as it wouldn’t be standing up anyways, but if you want to have the short ears standing up, I’d suggest a thicker fabric.

What I love about this pattern the most is the sheer amount of possibilities it offers.
You can make all the cute and fun looks, but also stunning dresses and tops that are more friendly towards office wear and day-to-day life, if cutesy ears aren’t your thing.

BAG WITH SHORT POINT EARS

This bag is so stinking cute!
As soon as my kid saw the pattern she requested a Jiji version and immediately decided to dress as Kiki (Kiki’s Delivery Service) for an upcoming Con.

I used denim for the main and canvas for the lining and it worked out great.

The cherry on top is that the bag is 100% reversible!
I forgot to photograph it inside out but will do so ASAP and add the photos here.

From now through Friday (Feb 23rd) you can save 25% on the Trefoil pattern, making it $7.50!
It’s a great bang for your buck considering how many possibilities it gives you, including the cutest and easiest to sew bag! <3

ETA: I’ve had a few questions about the cat’s face… I’ve made the SVG file and cut iron-on vinyl with a Cricut machine. Here’s a download link to the file, but please keep in mind it’s for PERSONAL use only.
