Rise and Shine!

Rise and Shine Sleeveless top – Pattern Emporium

Today’s post will be short and sweet. My creative funk is still around, but I’ve been slowly crawling myself out of it, and projects like Pattern Emporium’s new pattern help the process!

I’ve been really lax with posting on social media, but I just had to come over here and tell you about this gem of a wardrobe staple that Kate has just released.

“Rise and Shine” is a sleeveless top meant for woven fabrics. It’s quick and easy to sew and perfect for pretty much any and all occasions.

With different hem lengths and finishing options this top is the perfect addition to any wardrobe. It pairs well with alllllll the bottoms and we all know how much I love a good versatile piece. 😉

I paired mine both with my all-time favorite Palazzo Pants and the new-to-me Swing shorts.

For fabric, I used a linen-like tablecloth.
Yeah, my thing for using fabric from the home goods department lives on. LOL

For my first top I wanted to make the elasticated hem.

  • size 14
  • length 2
  • higher neckline
  • elastic at the hem

You can wear the elastic down or flip it up for a blousier look.
I’m so in love with the Swing Shorts, definitely making more for the summer!

For the second top I wanted to play with the center seam and stripes.

  • size 14
  • length 1
  • high neckline
  • hemmed bottom

I also added a center seam on the back of the top. If that’s something you also want to do, remember to add the seam allowance when cutting the back pieces.

It turned out super cute and the center seam is an awesome way to get the most out of your fabrics or use up all those smaller pieces that we never have in our hearts to get rid of.

Rise and Shine + Swing Shorts is a winning summer combo in my book!
