Tanacross Cardi – Hip length

The Tanacross Cardi taught me or reinforced to me that I should always be willing to go out of my comfort zone, to broaden my taste horizons and be open to new ideas.

How?
Well, I was assigned to test the hip length with fringe. In all honesty, I thought… well, that’s just not going to look good on me! A hip-length loose fit cardi will just make me look wider than I am and I’m not into fringe.
So I was quick to change lengths with a fellow tester and go with the knee-length and made peace with the fact that I’d use fringe.

After I’ve made my first Tanacross, I loved it so much that I decided to give the hip length a go… Yep, you guessed it!
I freaking LOVE it! I added fringe to it, and I freaking LOVE that too!

I think this may be my favorite! The fabric is so soft and cozy…
My mods were minimal for this cardi, I only graded up at the hips as per usual and lengthened the sleeves by an inch. That’s it!

The front panel pattern piece has an unusual shape, aside from that, this pattern is a fast make. It took me a hot second to understand the shape, but after that, it was a breeze. 🙂
